a fistful of hops
...
farmer hops and i harvested our hops yesterday. we ended up with 2 cereal bowlfuls, which adds up to a whopping 2 ounces, which, after drying, will end up as a less-than-whopping .4 ounces, which ain't enough for much at all. we'll have at least one more harvest, but it'll be smaller. i reckon we'll end up with an ounce of usable hops in the end, which will be "enough".
in any case, it was a lot of fun picking them, even though i ended up all itchy and we let in a mosquito to make me even more itchy.
they smell hoppy enough, and they feel about as i'd been led to expect. next year we 'yotta have even more.

You are such a great poet, Dr. Suess would be enchanted with you, and would have hired you in a hoppin' minute! The hops look beautiful and so interesting for a future hopper to study. You & our 203 are an inspiration. Love, You Mama
