grunt, breathe, don't puke
as my skills as a climber and a brewer go to shite, as my ears clog up from allergies and i can no longer enjoy my k701s, as my tummy gurgles from too much cereal, as my pants continue to fail to fit, as i mourn the passing of the best and only window i've ever had into the mind of a black man, i can take some small solace in the fact that my deadlift is still going up.

i note that i am not feeling "injured" as i used to back when i was squatting. i've got the tender erector/flexor still, but that seems to only be noticed as i lift, not for days afterwards. plus, i simply feel stronger in the back.
i think the sumo deadlift is "my lift" and that perhaps i was forcing things a bit with the squat and trad-dl.
