walgreens

picked up a 10pack of DE razors from walgreens. made in the USA. different grade of steel than the German Merkur blades I've been using. about half the price, as well.

i've wanted a local blade source because i don't really enjoy mail ordering consumables. i dont mind ordering soaps and aftershaves because those last months and months and months.

the walgreens brand blades feel different. very different. i'm pretty sure the difference is simply that these blades are duller -- and that's not necessarily a bad thing. it did the job with minimal irritation. i've had better shaves, but not tremendously better with a fresh-from-the-dispensor blade. i'll probably get more of these blades i reckon.

actually, i may have spoken too soon. the cheaper blade seems to have left more stubble. it didn't shave as closely. i reckon that's the way it should be.
